Mecpower & Navitas Solar Join Hands for 5 GWh BESS Giga-Project

Mecpower Solutions and Navitas Solar have announced a strategic partnership to set up a state-of-the-art 5 GWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) manufacturing facility in Karjan, Gujarat. Scheduled to commence operations in Q1 FY28, the proposed plant will bolster India’s domestic storage manufacturing footprint and accelerate its clean energy transition.

Building on a strong foundation of prior collaborations across renewable projects, the joint venture seamlessly combines Mecpower's engineering and project deployment strength with Navitas Solar’s advanced manufacturing expertise. The facility will produce high-reliability battery storage systems tailored for both utility-scale renewable initiatives and commercial and industrial (C&I) requirements.
